Kay Hansen (Wrestler) vs Jasmine Jasudavicius (Striker/Grappler)
Not the best PPV card to start the year. A very weak card up until the 2 title fights. Jasmine should have a massive size advantage in this fight and I think that will play a huge part in Kay trying to wrestle. I like the dog to start the night.
Vanessa Demopoulos (Grappler) vs Silvana Gomez Juarez (Striker)
Easy one to write about here. Striker vs. grappler and wherever the fight goes will show who will win. I think Juarez can keep this standing and win it. Vanessa is very tough, but I think Juarez gets it done.
Matt Frevola (Striker/Wrestler) vs Genaro Valdez (Striker/Grappler)
Valdez is 10-0 with a 100% win rate, which is very impressive. Frevola has his back against the wall here and I think he must secure the dub. I think he will get it done, but don’t be surprised if Valdez gets his 11th win.
Tony Gravely (Striker/Wrestler) vs Saimon Oliveira (Grappler)
I think Gravely should win this pretty easily, but if Oliveira uses his impressive striking then he may pull off the upset. He will need that or his wild submissions to pull off the upset.
Jack Della Maddalena (Striker) vs Pete Rodriguez (Striker)
Experience is going to go a long way in this one. Pete only has 4 fights. Pete will come out like a mad man and then gas and Jack should get a win in the second or third round.
Raoni Barcelos (Striker) vs Victor Henry (Well Rounded)
Fight got canceled a month ago and I’ll write the same thing I did then.
Horrible matchup for Henry coming into this fight on short notice. I don’t see this going well for him at all.
Michael Morales (Striker) vs Trevin Giles (Striker)
Neither of these guys are good at all. Trevin is coming down a weight class and is going to get beat by a lot of WW. He doesn’t have a ton of output and doesn’t really impress me. But neither does Morales. He will try to control the fight more than put pressure on Giles.
Cody Stamann (Striker/Wrestler) vs Said Nurmagomedov (Striker/Grappler)
Very interesting fight here. Cody is going to look to pressure and get Said to the ground before he starts to use his range in this fight. Said wants to keep this one standing and use his great takedown defense. If Cody can’t get his wrestling going, then it will be a long night at the office.
Michel Pereira (Crazy man/Striker) vs Andre Fialho (Striker)
Wild stuff will happen in this fight and Pereira will leave it all out there with him being on the main card of a PPV. I am going to go Pereira by spinning back fist.
Deiveson Figueiredo (Striker/Grappler) vs Brandon Moreno (Striker/Grappler)
I have written the same thing two times for this fight and you are going to get it again. I don’t think anything changes in this fight. “Here is my write up from the first fight. “I know I’m in the minority here and will look like an idiot after Figgy nukes Moreno’s head inside of 50 seconds. But Deiveson Figueredo is extremely overrated in my opinion. Brandon Moreno is the first mexican born fighter to compete for a UFC title and about the easiest dude to root for on the planet. In the week leading up to the biggest opportunity of his career he has remained happy, smiling and extremely loose. Figueredo has been hyped up to legendary status and had his name mentioned alongside Cejudo and Mighty Mouse. Moreno possesses the grappling, gas tank and durability to present issues later in the fight. He should outland Figgy, as the champ seeks to land the single nightender and not worry about volume. It will be a stressful 25 minutes but Moreno wins by decision. My thoughts are the exact same for this one. I need to see Moreno shoot more. If he can get him down and get top position, this fight could end with a new champ. “
And Still.
Francis Ngannou (Striker) vs Cyril Gané (Striker)
What a fight this is. I am so excited to see how this one plays out. This one all depends on how Francis comes out. If he comes out like he did versus Stipe then I think he has a real chance to get the upset (yes, that is right) in this one. If he comes out wild and tries to finish Gane quickly, then we could be looking at a new baddest man on the planet. Gane definitely deserves that title. He has been spectacular in his fighting career and moves and strikes like a WW. I am very excited to see how this plays out.
