Pitcher notes for 5.3.2022

PayDirt MLB Image

1 statement on each SP for tonight:

Joe Ryan:
improvements are real, but has been super lucky and is likely going to have a floor game soon .

Bruce Zimmermann:
HR rate should come up a bit but has been fuckin nails thus far thanks to a career low fastball usage.

Jameson Taillon:
Solid all around, what you see is what I expect you to get.

Alek Manoah:
94% LOB rate and luck in the HR department is worrisome.

Noah Syndergaard:
Sold his strikeout upside for groundball rate and completely changed his identity to a low upside, high floor wormburner.

Michael Wacha:
Walk rate, BABIP, and LOB% are a recipe for disaster.

Michael Kopech:
Walk rate is gross and the xFIP is 4.61 while the ERA is 1.42 so we can expect him to implode soon if he doesn't fix that.

Scott Effross:
Who the fuck is Scott Effross?

Tyler Mahle:
As mentioned earlier, has bad problems with LHH and the Brewers have upside through that platoon

Brandon Woodruff:
Expect him to be good, not great, but models hate him because he has shown serious downside in his baserates and contact

Chris Flexen:
Low groundball rate and lucky in terms of HR rate as a pitch-to-contact guy is typically something we want to attack plus he has seen a drop in velo

Christian Javier:
LOB rate and HR rate are up for serious regression but the upside is real in terms of strikeout and fantasy

Dakota Hudson:
lol a walk rate above 10% and a BABIP of 180 he's going to get straight molly whopped soon

Brad Keller:
Strikeout rate is lacking but we have some career bests in terms of walk and groundball rates so if he finds the right matchup he's going to be valuable

Erick Fedde:
Career best strikeout rate and been unlucky in terms of BABIP, LOB%, and HR rates and while I think a 39% groundball rate is going to get him plugged a couple times he has more upside than years past

German Marquez:
Strikeout rate is completely gone but he's been unlucky in terms of LOB and HR rate so the floor is better than we have seen

Ryan Yarbrough:
No data this year, so we will see how things go

Paul Blackburn:
Blackburn cut his dog shit sinker usage in half last game to throw more four seamers and curves (doubled usage on both). Led to career high in swstr% and csw%

Carlos Rodon:
Dude is in full on fuckmode and has like 6 redbulls on the sidetable to keep going until he has to go to work, but he might just call in and keep fucking

Julio Urias:
What the fuck happened here? Walk rate has exploded and he's been lucky to limit further damage so we may want to go after him
